Guess who’s back…back again…

Well, it's been 20 years since I first took a ride in this taxi!

Let me tell you something: you could not have convinced 10-year-old me that this guy is supposed to be a turtle. I genuinely thought, without a trace of doubt, that he was a green parrot. I mean, come on. The whole pirate thing he has going on? The yellow mouth (that I thought was a beak)? I was SHOCKED when I learned the truth years later.

Keep in mind, this was the first game in the series I played, so this was the first version of Kapp'n I met. I think it was the hat covering up his kappa bald spot. And I was too dumb to question why none of the other birds in the game looked like him.

Anyway, after resetting my game a few times to get a good map, I landed on this one. I named the town Amori, which I thought sounded cute. Sounds like amore, Italian for “love”; additionally, mori means “forest” in Japanese (a little tribute to the original AC game).

I really like the placement of my house; having the border as a backdrop just feels right. And I’m not sure how I ended up with a pink Barbie roof, but I like it. I think it will go well with the Lovely furniture set, which I plan on collecting (always wanted to as a kid but never did). Lucky for me, Tom Nook was selling the Lovely carpet in his store today! Off to a good start.

My neighbors are cool. Lily is a sweet green frog with crazy blush blindness. I mean, she really cakes it on. One of my first interactions with her was listening in on her squabbling with Bree, a sassy green-haired mouse who was criticizing her clothes. In Bree’s defense, later that day I saw that Lily had fleas. (Which…how?) After that I sent each of them a letter trash-talking the other, because I love the drama.

And then there’s Elvis, a pretty plain-looking lion, whose house is really something else. Talk about ego. And…two thrones? I wonder who his queen is? Maybe it's me, and he's been waiting for me to arrive…he did come over to my house today.😉 And yes, I do recognize and love the Elvis Presley reference.

Paid off about 2/3 of my loan so far.

XOXO, Chilly
